Natural Hair Remidies!

Hello everyone,

This morning I washed my hair, let it air dry and thought, 'Damn, I'm lovin' my hair care routine lately.' When my hair dries, I don't style it with any heat. It looks shiny and feels soft thanks to a few tricks I'm going to share today!

As mentioned in a pervious blog, I've essentially gone all organic with my hair care. Aside from a few items I use after I wash my hair, most products are organic including my shampoo and conditioner..

The first item I could not live without is coconut oil. Oh my goodness ladies and gents this stuff makes a world of a difference on your hair. It's more manageable, softer and looks healthier.

I take about a tablespoon, melt it in the microwave for about 30-40 seconds and then apply throughout my hair with my fingers (don't drench you're hair with this stuff...you're hair will look greasy even after rinsing it out several times). I do this at night time and rinse it out the following morning. Now, if you use organic shampoo like I do the products I'm sharing with you today may not rinse out the first time you attempt to rinse it out. I sometimes have to jump back in the shower later that day or the following day and rinse it out again. I hate doing this because I try to only wash my hair twice a week but it's worth it because these items make a world of a difference if you are looking for healthy hair that will in turn, grow longer and thicker as breakage is prevented.

Next is my honey hair mask...smells delicious. This is sticky stuff! I use a brush used in salons to apply hair dye which works best to apply the honey mask. This helps bring moisture back into your hair and also can slowly (very slowly) bring out your natural highlights. (Honey is a natural peroxide and is not at all damaging for your hair). If you watch youtube, AndreasChoice has a great video on how to apply this honey lightener.

I put olive oil and Honey together in a sealed container and let it sit for an hour. I then apply it to my hair and wrap my head in a plastic bag. I let this sit for an hour and then rinse it out. The Honey comes out no problem but olive oil can be a bit resistant so shampoo well. Instead of olive oil you can opt for your fav conditioner. I noticed the last 4 inches of my hair lightened up a significant amount as it is the only part of my hair that was previously blonde. The rest of my natural hair has lightened just a bit...this has provided me with a natural, unintended  'ombre' look.

Last involves olive oil again but only olive oil! I have poured some into a small bottle with a pump and apply a pea size amount of this to my ends a few nights a week before I go to sleep. I only put a small amount and there is no need to rinse it out the next day. This helps mend and prevent split ends.

I hope you have some of these items in your cupboards already so you can try them out tonight! You won't regret it
